Scholarships and Financial Assistance
Subsidized education are provided to all students of the University of the Philippines regardless of their income status with tuition and other fees being much less than the direct cost of education in the University. Cognizant of the fact that students come from the different socio-economic strata of society and have varying financial needs, the University provides additional financial assistance through the following forms:
- Socialized Tuition System (STS). The STS processes tuition bracket application of students so that they may avail of free or discounted tuition and stipends based on the assessed paying capacity of the household to which they belong.
- Scholarships. Students may apply for scholarships which grant subsidies for book, tuition, and living allowance.
- Student Assistantships. Students are given the opportunity to partially finance their educational expenses by working for the University as student assistants.
- Loans. Students may apply for student loans to pay for their school fees.
