Cebu City Schools Division Superintendent Rhea Mar A. Angtud expressed her appreciation to the UP Cebu Ugnayan ng Pahinungod and Master of Education Program in conducting free Action Research Webinar to 104 teachers of Cebu City Don Carlos A. Gothong Memorial National High School on 25 March 2021.
The webinar-workshop discussed action research methodology and design in the new normal. The volunteers are the faculty of the College of Social Sciences.
College of Social Sciences Dean Francis Michael Abad in his message said, “It is important to obtain the skill on how to conduct action research as it will enable us to scientifically improve our teaching.” Plenary speaker Dr. Aurelio Vilbar discussed about the feasible action research topics in the new normal while Prof. Kim Bondoc discussed statistics in educational research.
The breakout session volunteer speakers are the following: Prof. Jun Carl Alenton, Prof. Kim Bondoc, Prof. Kenneth Louis Cavanlit, Ms. Ericka Mae Encabo, Prof. Edwin Estrera, Mr. Dexter Gabica, Prof. Jeraline Gumalal, Prof. Magnolia Laus, Prof. Joan Grace Pacres, Mr. Sean Policarpio and Mr. Niño Ybañez.
From the post activity evaluation, the participants learned how to create an action research title following a framework suggested by the speakers. They gained ideas about the do’s and don’ts in writing a research title. They also suggested future topics on statistical treatment of data, research designs, data analysis and more on research methodology. The teachers were looking forward to another free action research webinar.
