Prof. Edwin Estrera and his Grade 12 HUMMS class of Community Engagement, Solidatory, and Citizenship (CESC) conducted a series of service-learning projects on Voter’s Education Campaign to the youth of Barangay Guba and Pulangbato, Cebu City. The activities were held on 27 April 2022 at Barangay Guba and on 29 April 2022 in Barangay Pulangbato.
His students designed and pilot tested the voter’s education modules that can promote critical analysis of the Philippines’ election practices and empower the youth to achieve an honest election.
UP High alumna Michelle Rodriguez advised the community to do multiple sources checking before sharing the social media news.
In their closing remarks, Brgy Guba SK leaders said that the workshop developed their awareness of the election issues in the country.
This project was organized by UP High School Cebu, UP High Gold, UP-Cebu Ugnayan Ng Pahinungod, and the Office of Continuing Education & Pahinungod. Volunteer staff also assisted in managing the event.
