The school opened its gates from 6:00 P.M. to midnight for a night of cultural festivity that highlighted the cultural heritage and artistic excellence of Cebuanos. A short program was held at the Oblation Square featuring cultural performances followed by the soft opening of the UP Cebu Museum of Art and Culture.

The event also featured “Pamantasang Halangdon: The School That Refused to Die”, a historical exhibit showing a century of photos and timeline of UP Cebu’s rich history. The exhibit along the campus walkway was curated by Prof. Jay Nathan Jore and Ms. Greys Lockheart of the Fine Arts Program. GSK guests were also treated to a viewing of various student artworks of the 46th Jose Joya Awards and Exhibition at the Jose Joya Gallery.

UP Cebu was one of 20 heritage sites and museums that participated in the highly-successful annual cultural event organized by the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation, Inc. The UP Cebu Administration Building being a hearitage building, is home to various art and cultural pieces. The public can have access to the Museum of Art & Culture found in this building for free.
