Two short films by UP Cebu Communication students, Alsa by Tunhay Productions and Ukit sa Dapit by Pandaya Productions, are official entries in the Sinulog Film Festival 2025. Produced as final outputs for COMM 105: Multimedia Production under Asst. Prof. Annie Perez-Gallardo, these films highlight the creativity and dedication of UP Cebu’s aspiring filmmakers.
Alsa follows a young man who is forced to abandon his education to support his younger sister, only for her to uncover the difficult truth behind his sacrifice. Ukit sa Dapit tells the story of an orphan left alone after the passing of her adoptive grandmother, struggling to find her place in the world while holding on to hope and faith.
The public screening will be held on February 8, 2025, at 2:00 PM in the Community Hall, 9th Floor, Cebu City Hall.
