UP Cebu Chancellor Atty. Liza D. Corro gives her talk during the pinning ceremony of the Department of Science and Technology – Science Education Institute’s (DOST-SEI) 2-day Scholars Formation Program held on 25-26 February 2020, where scholars from different universities and colleges in Cebu were in attendance.

In line with DOST-SEI’s vision for the project, Chancellor Corro said: “Professional excellence encompasses all the core values of patriotism, servant leadership, and social responsibility.”

She ends her talk with a short message “We do not seek perfection from [scholars]. We hope you will be our ambassadors and epitome of professional excellence, both now and in the years to come.”

The formation program is part of DOST-SEI’s “Filipino Patriot Scholars Project” with direction to inculcate the core values of professional excellence, social responsibility, and servant leadership among its scholars.

This activity aims to broaden the engagement of the DOST-SEI scholars in achieving inclusive democracy, inclusive development, and inclusive human security. The workshop featured a series of engaging modules and activities that would allow the participants to interact with the different sectors or communities and identify problems and provide solutions.
