The University of the Philippines Cebu University Library will celebrate the 85th National Book Week that will set about on 24-30 November 2019 with the theme “Inclusive. Innovative. Interconnected” spearheaded by the Philippine Librarians Association, Inc. (PLAI) in partnership with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) through the National Committee on Libraries and Information Services (NCLIS), the National Library of the Philippines (NLP) and the National Book Week (NBW) committee 2019. One of the identified activities for the UP Cebu 2019 National Book Week is the Poster-making Contest for Non Artists: (1) to awaken the hidden talent of drawing/painting by the UP Cebu students; (2) to promote the importance of UP Cebu University Library; (3) to ignite students’ appreciation on the brand new excitement that the modern library provides. The contest will also contribute to the collection of photographs and artworks that depict the promotion of the UP Cebu University Library.
Theme: “Inclusive. Innovative. Interconnected”
Poster entries must be actually drawn in free hand on the day of the scheduled activity, 20 November 2019, 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at the University Library. Each contestant will be given two (2) hours to complete his/her entry.
The contest is open to all Junior High School, Senior High School, and College students (except Fine Arts students) enrolled in University of the Philippines Cebu (at the time they join the contest). The University Library shall require all participants to submit a copy of their valid University ID. Only five (5) artists OR five(5) entries will be accepted in the contest. Pre-registration at the Circulation Counter of UP Cebu University Library is strictly followed on a first come, first serve basis.
