09 Dec 2018 — GROWING FAMILY.

University of the Philippines Cebu (UP Cebu) and Bohol Island State University (BISU) inked a MOA to seal their partnership in a ceremony held at the Bohol Island State University – Candijay Auditorium.

BISU is the first university outside Cebu to have a formal collaboration with the UP Cebu in the research and development initiatives of the Central Visayas Center for Environmental Informatics (CENVI).

The remarkable event was graced by the presence of DOST-7 Asst. Regional Director Engr. Jesus F. Zamora, who discussed the Science for Change Program (S4CP); and DOST-PCIEERD Project Managers Mr. Roven Tumaneng and Ms. Mary Joy Buitre, who presented an overview of DOST PCIEERD.

The partnership will forge meaningful collaborations whilst harnessing the expertise and knowledge that lie within the key, niche areas of both state universities.

The academic partnerships forged by CENVI is in line with the thrust of DOST-Philippines to “capacitate higher education institutions in the regions to make significant improvement in regional research” through the Niche Centers in the Regions for R&D (NICER) program.
