On 10-11 December 2019, the UP Cebu faculty and administrative heads held a two-day strategic planning at West 35 Eco Mountain Resort, Balamban, Cebu facilitated by Ms. Mags Maglana.

The overnight session was packed with sessions that had the different heads of offices revisit and revise their respective offices’ goals and direction to that of UP Cebu’s priorities and ultimately the UP System. The overall goal of this strategic plan was to realign each offices’ goals and resources to be able to strengthen UP Cebu operations and ensure that the employees and stakeholders as well are aware and work toward common goals in response to a changing environment.

The sessions required a disciplined effort that can produce fundamental decisions and actions that can shape and guide what an UP Cebu is, who it serves, what it does, and why it does it, with a focus on the future.

The first day sessions were all about reevaluating where UP Cebu currently stands through the revisiting of the vision, mission, and goal statements and graduate attributes; reviewing the 10-point agenda and Chancellor’s priority initiatives; and leveling up the internal and external analysis.

The second day sessions were all about taking a view of UP Cebu from a macro level and reformulating objectives and developing strategic options to achieve the 7-year plan. This strategic planning will yield a published output of UP Cebu’s 2020-2026 plans.
